This is a three year Project in partnership with Magic Bus India Foundation, funded by NSE,  to be implemented in 10 Ulhasnagar Municipal Schools. It was implemented in 2 phases.

In the preparatory phase (first year of the project), three Shikshak Mitras from QUEST underwent training for Saksham Remedial program for Mathematics & Marathi for students from Grades 5 to 7. QUEST also trained 10 Youth Mentors of Magic Bus India Foundation (MBIF) for Active Library Program to be carried out for students from Grades 3 to 7. QUEST helped MBIF in setting up of libraries in the 10 selected schools.

During the Implementation phase in the second and third year of the project, training workshops were arranged by QUEST for the teachers & principals of the 10 selected schools.Remedial program was carried out by the Shikshak Mitras of QUEST with on site support to the teachers.

The 3-year project brought in a lot of challenges and learnings as well. In the concluding phase of the project, the teachers appreciated the efforts taken by Magic Bus and QUEST and acknowledged that the intervention had actually brought about significant changes not only among the students but also among the teachers through onsite support and training. The teachers acknowledged the need to continue Saksham in their schools because most of the children were achieving below their desired level. The teachers also wanted a quality education program in their school for Grades 1-4 so that after a point Saksham would not be required in their schools.
