Quest Fellowship Programmes
A) Full time Research Fellow
Duration : 1 to 2 years
Purpose : To work on a research problem pertinent to the Elementary education or Teacher education.
Qualifications : Master's degree in Elementary Education/ Child Development/ Educational Technology and 2 years of relevant experience
10 years of work experience in the field of elementary Education with a relevant research question
Nature of the Fellowship
Financial Support of Rs 25,000 per month to the Fellow and an average amount up to Rs 10,000 per month to be reimbursed as per actual towards the project expenses (resource material, travel, guidance from the experts etc.) Office facility is made available at the project site. The fellow is expected to work closely with the field staff of QUEST
Example: One research fellow is working in the field of early literacy. Children in tribal area of Nandurbar district, one of the project areas of QUEST, speak languages such as Pawari, Bhili, Kokani which are considerably different from Marathi. The fellow is trying to explore how the transaction from the home language to school Language takes place, especially when it comes to written text; and how one can provide support during this transition. The Fellowship is supported by Navajabai Ratan Tata Trust.

B) Part time Research Fellowship in Material Development and Design
Duration : 6 to12 months
Purpose : To develop innovative and appropriate educational material for children and student-teachers
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or Master’s degree in Educational technology or Postgraduate diploma in instructional design with two years of teaching experience
5-7 years of experience in teaching
Nature of the Fellowship:
Financial support of Rs 10,000 per month towards the project expanses is provided under this programme.
This Fellowship is given to Teachers, Teacher educators, Instructional designers who want to work part time on QUEST’s material development project. Normally a broad plan for the material development is defined by the QUEST team and the fellow is expected to explore, develop the idea within the boundaries of the plan.
One fellowship supported by Sir Ratan Tata Trust was given under this programme to one of the employees of QUEST from August 2009 to July 2010. She worked on production of children’s books for beginner readers in regional language. Woking closely with the artists and author she developed 10 titles in Marathi. Two of these books are being published now in Hindi, English, Urdu and Gujarati by Eklavya Publications, Madhya Pradesh.

C) Teacher/student Fellowship
Duration : 1 to 3 months
Objective : To encourage teachers to take up small action research projects that would help them for their own professional development and help students undergoing a master’s programme in Education, to take up a meaningful real life field projects where they will be able to link the theory to the practice.
Qualifications :
Practicing teacher in elementary school
Teachers from alternative schools
Students undergoing a master’s programme in education
Support towards the project expenses and guidance up to Rs 8,000 per month depending on the nature and scope of action research or the project.
Nature of the fellowship
