Visit by ‘Clowns without Borders’
Three members of ‘Clowns without Borders’ visited QUEST on December 21, 2009. ‘Clowns without Borders’ is an international not-for-profit organization. As stated on their website (www.clownswithoutborders.org), “CLOWNS WITHOUT BORDERS offers laughter to relieve the suffering of all persons, especially children, who live in areas of crisis including refugee camps, conflict zones and territories in situations of emergency. We bring levity, contemporary clown/circus oriented performances and workshops into communities so that they can celebrate together and forget for a moment the tensions that darken their daily lives.”
The three ‘clowns’ visited the Balbhavans at Sonale and Dadhre. The programmes were attended by students, teachers and other onlookers. The clowns enthralled the audiences with their antics and funny acts. They came from countries other than India and had little or no knowledge of the local language. But the continuous laugher - from children and adults alike - heard during their 45-minute performances proved that laughter is a universal language!
QUEST is grateful to Clown without Borders for the lovely shows!
