Support to Anganwadis
QUEST implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum (based on the programme developed by the Maharashtra Balshikshan Parishad, the federation for pre-school education in Maharashtra) in the Anganwadis. The curriculum is broadly divided into 7 areas – free play, motor development and group games, art experience, language, mathematics, exploring the environment and activities of daily living.
The Balmitra is trained by QUEST to provide on-site support to Anganwadi workers for this purpose. QUEST also makes low cost teaching-learning aids from indigenous material and trains the teachers to make them.
At present, 5 Aaganwadies are operational out of which 3 are supported under Navajbai Ratan Tata Trust and 2 from other sources.
