Anganwadis in Nandurbar

QUEST is providing resource support to Jeevan Vidya Trust (JVT) for running Anganwadis in the 9 villages where Balbhavans are being conducted by JVT in Nandurbar block.

The Balmitras have been trained by the QUEST team to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum (based on the programme developed by the Maharashtra Balshikshan Parishad, the federation for pre-school education in Maharashtra) in the Anganwadis. The curriculum is broadly divided into 7 areas – free play, motor development and group games, art experience, language, mathematics, exploring the environment and activities of daily living.

These trained Balmitras are conducting a full-fledged Early Childhood Education programme in these Anganwadis from January 2011.

A Supervisor from QUEST is stationed at Nandurbar to monitor and provide regular support to these Anganwadis.
