Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT) had initiated the process to set up an Educational Resource Centre in Dhadagaon. On request from SRTT, QUEST accepted the responsibility of activating the centre. On August 15, 2011, various activities in the Block Resource Centre in Dhadgaon were started.
The resource centre will cater to children, teachers, teacher Educators, trainee teachers from the block.
Programmes for children:
Math remedial programme and Science Toys programme for the children from 2 schools in Dhadgaon have been started. At present 3 batches of math remedial and 2 batches of science toys are being conducted. The response from the students is quite encouraging! They come to the Centre even after school hours to read books and play with the educational aids available at the Centre.
Programmes for teachers:
Since it is situated in the premises of the Block Education Office (BEO), a number of teachers who visit the BEO also visit the Resource centre. A library is being run for these teachers. Efforts are on to obtain permission from the BEO to allot a part of the teachers’ Gatsammelans to be conducted at the BRC, so that teachers can see the Resource Centre and gain information on the various educational aids available at the Centre.
